Being a freelancer can come with a lot of freedoms, but it also has a working side to it. Granted, you can pick your own hours, the projects that you take on, and even the rate of pay for the work. Many freelancers work from the comfort of their own home, therefore eliminating the travel time, fuel, and vehicle maintenance of driving to work every day.

But working as a freelancer is not all about setting in your PJs, eating cereal, and staring at a computer all day. It takes a lot of time and effort to build a good reputation in the freelance world before you can start reaping any real reward. It takes patience and tenacity to do well.

A freelancer has to give every job their full attention to make sure that the client receives their best work. Because a freelance career relies upon having happy clients, that will return time and again. Once a basic clientele list has been made, a freelancer can work from it to build a steady, ongoing income. Of course there are going to be times when freelancers feel like they have hit a rock wall, but with a lot of practice and patience it can be a great life choice.
